Comedy Roadshow
at Blackpool’s Grand Theatre on Wednesday 4th August
with special guest JOHN BISHOP

Michael will skip onstage at Blackpool’s Grand to get the audience in stitches and to introduce sexy Scouse comedian JOHN BISHOP (star of BBC One’s John Bishop’s Britain) plus three of the best stand ups from the UK comedy circuit.

Comic superstar Michael McIntyre is hitting the road to record his second series of Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow for BBC One and will film the first show LIVE at Blackpool’s Grand Theatre on Wednesday 4th August in front of invited only audience.


Michael will skip onstage at Blackpool’s Grand to get the audience in stitches and to introduce sexy Scouse comedian JOHN BISHOP (star of BBC One’s John Bishop’s Britain) plus three of the best stand ups from the UK comedy circuit, who are new to a BBC One Saturday night audience. Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow keeps its finger firmly on the pulse of the vibrant UK comedy scene and unearths a raft of comedy’s brightest new talent and finest comedians while en route.

The first series of Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow aired on BBC One last summer to phenomenal success. The series regularly achieved audiences of over 5 million viewers and went on to be nominated and shortlisted for a plethora of high profile awards including a BAFTA, NTA (National TV Award) Award, RTS Award and British Comedy Award. The series won an RTS North Award for Best TV Entertainment Show in 2009.

Series two of Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow is due to air on BBC One this Autumn and is an Open Mike Manchester production.


Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow is filmed live at Blackpool’s Grand Theatre on Wednesday 4th August with special guest John Bishop and three further guests to be announced. This is an invite only event and tickets are no longer available.

Notes for Editors:

Michael McIntyre began his stand-up career in 1999 and by all accounts wasn't particularly funny. Over the years however things have picked up. He now hosts BBC One’s primetime Saturday night award winning Michael Mcintyre’s Comedy Roadshow, which will return in 2010 for a second series.
He has performed twice at the Royal Variety Performance and appeared three times on BBC’s stand-up showcase Live at the Apollo. His first DVD, Live and Laughing, was the fastest and biggest selling debut of all time and his follow up DVD, Hello Wembley, became the fastest selling stand-up DVD of all time, selling 1.3 million copies to date and holding the Christmas Number 1 DVD spot.
In 2009, Michael played live to half a million people in 54 arenas, including a record breaking six nights at Wembley and four at the London’s O2.
He lives in London with his wife Kitty and two sons Lucas and Oscar and is currently writing a book about it all, Life and Laughing, which will be out towards the end of 2010.
