Those who have been glued to Channel 4’s latest reality game show The Jump will have seen X Factor winner Joe McElderry battle it out to secure victory over his fellow contestants. And none could have been prouder than the Grand Theatre, who will be playing host to Joe when he visits Blackpool as part of his 55-date UK Set Your Soul Alive Tour on Sunday 11 May 2014.
Seeing off Olympic rower Sir Steve Redgrave and comedian Marcus Brigstocke due to injury, Joe went on to beat investigative journalist Donal MacIntyre with his final jump. Joe achieved a 17.5m height that saw him crowned ‘The Jump Champion’ and even earned him the nickname ‘Daddy Bear’!
After his exhilarating experience on The Jump and death-defeating trials, Joe was upbeat and positive, exclaiming: “I’m just glad I’m down on firm solid ground … I have had an absolute blast. We’ve had so much fun.” Glad as Joe may be to be on terra firma again, The Grand are even happier that he has managed to come through the competition in one piece!
