Blue Monday typically falls on the third Monday of January and is often dubbed the most depressing day of the year due to a combination of post-Christmas sadness, a feeling of low motivation and the gloomy, cold weather. But don’t worry! You can beat the January Blues with a few simple strategies:

Five top tips to help beat the January Blues:

1.Get Moving: A brisk walk or a workout releases endorphins, the body’s natural mood boosters, to help you feel more energised and positive.

2.Connect with Loved Ones: A good chat or a meet up with friends or family can give you a fresh perspective.

3.Plan Something Fun: Whether it’s a future holiday, a movie night, or tickets to a live show at Blackpool Grand Theatre, having something to look forward to works wonders.

4.Brighten Your Space: Let in natural light or use warm, cheerful lighting to combat the gloomy January skies. Exposure to natural light increases the levels of serotonin in the brain, which is associated with improved mood.

5.Treat Yourself: Indulge in small pleasures – a favorite meal, a new book, a cozy night in or tickets to a show! It’s okay to prioritise your happiness, especially on tougher days.

Make it your resolution to experience the joy of live theatre in 2025…
