Blackpool Pantomime Heritage – Discover the Magic of Pantomime at Blackpool Grand Theatre, Blackpool’s No.1 Pantomime venue!

Step into the enchanting world of Blackpool pantomime heritage at Blackpool Grand Theatre, where generations of families have gathered for over a century to celebrate festive fun. As Blackpool’s No.1 Pantomime, this beloved tradition has become a huge family favourite, welcoming audiences year after year to experience laughter, storytelling, and a sprinkle of magic.

Founded in 1894 by architect Frank Matcham, Blackpool Grand Theatre has been at the heart of the town’s cultural life, making its mark as a hub for Blackpool Pantomime heritage. Each year, families, teachers, and theatre enthusiasts alike return to The Grand to enjoy classic Pantomimes like Cinderella, Aladdin, and Peter Pan, all under the expert production of Martin Dodd of UK Productions Ltd, who has been bringing these festive stories to life for over 25 years.

No pantomime is complete without the memorable Dames, and Blackpool’s stage has hosted some of the best in the business. Jamie Morris and Tarot Joseph are two of The Grand’s most beloved dames, but over the years, audiences have also been treated to the comedic genius of Philip Meeks in Snow White (2016) and Nick Wilton in Cinderella (2019). Their hilarious performances have become a signature of Blackpool’s Pantomime magic.

Celebrities have also made their mark on Blackpool pantomime heritage. Tom Lister (Emmerdale) shone as Captain Hook in Peter Pan (2014), while Vicky Entwistle (Coronation Street) delighted audiences in Snow White (2016) as the Wicked Queen. Most recently, Danny Miller (Emmerdale) thrilled audiences with his performance in Jack and the Beanstalk (2022).

These performances are part of the long-standing legacy of Blackpool pantomime heritage, which continues to be a favourite for families across the generations. With whimsical sets, stunning costumes, and heartwarming stories, Blackpool Grand Theatre’s Pantomimes remain at the heart of the town’s festive celebrations.
