An exotic evening of entertainment is set to make the 2017 Showzam! Carnival Ball one of the best yet.

Tickets are now on sale for the annual event which takes place on 11 February at the opulent Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

One of the highlights of the resort’s social calendar, the event has a Mardi Gras theme. Guests are encouraged to dress to impress, with the dress code sexy and glamorous. Or why not add a dash of the Mardi Gras colours of purple, yellow and gold and join us for a night to remember?

The Ball will be compered by the charming, charismatic and effortlessly funny Pete Anderson who has entertained audiences around the world.

Live music comes from a rabble of mischievous northerners, Mr Wilson’s Second Liners, a traditional New Orleans funeral brass band, with a collective musical talent paying homage to the diehard days of the Hacienda, 90s club culture and its greatest hero, Mr Tony Wilson.

Along with a DJ extravaganza from the lovely Broken Heart DJ Amber, well-known for their distinctive brand of DJ sets – playing sounds from the 1920s right up to the present day.

The line-up of entertainment also features world-renowned contortionist Pixie Le Knot. Known for her appearance in Game of Thrones, she performs the most extreme and amazing backbends which very few other British contortionists are able to achieve.

She will be joined by a thrilling programme of live performances from hoola hooping wonder Polly Hoops, daredevil Spikey Will, fun and frolics with Felicity Footloose and death defying escapologist Rob Roy Collins.

With an early bird offer of just £12 before the 31st December 2016 thereafter £15, tickets can be purchased via our VisitBlackpool Tourist Information Centre on the Promenade or online via visitblackpool.com/showzam, or alternatively from The Blackpool Tower Box Office or online at www.theblackpooltower.com/showzam – so why not join us for a night to remember!

There is limited seating available on the night, so it is advised to get there as early as possible and guests are urged to book early for this event which is sure to be incredibly popular. The event is for strictly over 18s only.

Cllr Gillian Campbell, Deputy Leader of Blackpool Council, said: “The Showzam! Carnival Ball is always one of the highlights of Blackpool’s calendar and is sure to be fantastic again this year.

“We’re lining up a range of unusual, exotic and glamorous acts for the evening and I can guarantee that it will be a fantastic night.

“Tickets are on sale now and I’m sure a pair of tickets for the Ball would make an ideal stocking filler for anyone who loves a fabulous night out.”
