The Grand Theatre is eagerly awaiting The Touring Consortium’s latest production of Brassed Off. The show will make its way to Blackpool on Tuesday 15 April until Saturday 19 April and will run for seven performances.
And to get us all in the mood for this exciting production, the company has released an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming production at York Theatre Royal. For a sneak peek at how the show comes together, check out this video with Dawn Allsop – set and costume designer.
Inspired by the Miners’ Strike of the 1980s, the play follows the miners at Grimley Coliery as their livelihoods are threatened, as well as their chances at winning the national brass band competition. Starring John McArdle (from TV’s Brookside, Merseybeat and Waterloo Road), Brassed Off has been described as “a story full of belly laughs, full of human spirit” (The Independent).
Brassed Off will be showing at the Grand Theatre from Tuesday 15 April to Saturday 19 April. For more information on the show and to book tickets, visit our show webpage or contact box office on 01253 290190.
