The jaw-dropping Hofesh Shechter Company rock back into Blackpool Grand Theatre on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 September with the electrifying new dance work From England with Love.

This thrilling new piece from ‘one of British dance scene’s hottest properties’ is an ode to this intricate and beautiful country and its multi-layered complexity and will be performed by Shechter II – a company of exceptional young dancers aged 18 to 25 who represent the next generation of world-class emerging artists from across globe.

Hofesh Shechter is acknowledged as one of the most exciting artists making stage work today. His distinctive dance style matched with his compositions of atmospheric and driving rock scores is recognised and revered by dance lovers all over the world.

From England with Love has been described as ‘a peek into the heart and soul of this beautiful, yet complicated place’ and is performed to a rich score that combines the sounds of English classical composers in a clash with raging rock alongside echoes of choral song and electronics in an avant-garde cacophony. Through Shechter’s powerful choreography, the dancers evoke the paradox at the heart of this generous and soul–searching place called England, conflicted by its dark history and powerful attachment to old traditions. They breathtakingly draw us into their search for identity and self-knowledge as they grapple with this complex system of values.

This playful and poignant piece premiered to rave reviews in Italy earlier this year and will travel to Blackpool Grand as part of a series of exclusive UK dates.
