Blackpool’s Grand Theatre launched their FRESH new look at Blackpool and The Fylde College’s FRESHERS FAIR this Autumn.
Blackpool’s Grand took centre stage at the two events held by the multi-award winning college which has most recently been recognised as the only college in Lancashire offering gold standard programmes to its higher education students.
The new “gold” rating from the Government’s national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) means B&FC delivers consistently outstanding teaching, learning and outcomes for its students. B&FC is one of only 14 colleges nationally to receive the highest rating, which puts its higher education provision among the UK’s elite.
Two FRESHERS events were planned by B&FC Students’ Union and held at Bispham Campus (19 Sept) and University Centre (21 Sept), both events we’re incredibly well attended with higher numbers than ever, with over 2,500 students in attendance.
Blackpool’s Grand partnered with Revolution Bars for the first time. The specialist cocktail makers from the Blackpool venue used their mixology skills to create two incredible mocktails the ‘Bend and Snap’ and the ‘Bruiser’. Demand was so high huge ques formed outside.
Blackpool’s Grand is committed to providing great experiences for its 18 to 26year old market. And a FRESH new look was just what was needed. A time when young adults become independent ticket purchasers and when encouraging regular attendance creates an audience of the future. The Grand, like many theatres across the UK, work to encourage this valuable market and to continue the future of Theatre and its audiences.
Leading with a Legally Blonde the Musical theme for the event, a giant Yurt was erected and filled with hot pink chesterfield sofas and Chaises longues, even a giant handbag and lipstick were on show. Add to that an incredible cocktail bar by the masters of mixing Revolution Bar all creating an incredible atmosphere.
With the FRESH new look, just under 3000 Under 26 memberships were handed out on the day, a great success, as well as huge praise for its eclectic programme including, Musicals Legally Blonde (9-14 Apr), Son of A Preacher Man (20-24 Mar), and 20th Century Boy (13-17 Mar), Dance with Russian Ballet of Siberia (12-14 Jan), Joss Arnott (22 Nov), and Mark Bruce (17-18 Apr), not forgetting top comedian Jason Manford (27 & 28 Jan).
