It’s The Most Wonderful Time of The Year for seasonal shows at Blackpool Grand Theatre.
Blackpool Grand is decking the stalls with a sleigh full of spectacular shows to bring festive cheer and magical family memories this November and December. From toe-tapping thrills to marvellous live music nights, a heartwarming brass band bringing classic carols and cheer, and hilarious pantomime performances; the Grand is pulling out all the (jingle) bells and whistles to make this the best Christmas ever!
The fabulous feel-good, Irish-inspired extravaganza Fairytale of New York is back on Saturday 16 November with an even bigger production for 2024. Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Irish culture as an international cast of talented singers, musicians and dancers perform festive favourites from Driving Home for Christmas to Oh Holy Night, and, of course, The Fairytale of New York; along with the greatest Irish sing-along songs of all time including The Galway Girl, The Irish Rover, Dirty Old Town and The Black Velvet Band.
Step into Christmas with the dazzling dance phenomenon that has been bringing audiences across the world to their feet for 25 sensational years with the Rhythm of The Dance Christmas Special on Wednesday 20 November. Let the magic begin right from your toes and get ready to dance in the aisles as everyone’s favourite festive songs are performed live by world-class musicians, star vocalists and world championship dancers.
Have a thrilling Technicolor Christmas as four incredible singers from the global hit show Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat come together for an unforgettable evening of musical theatre and jingle-bell magic in Dreamcoat Stars A Musical Christmas on Saturday 23 November. Take a sleigh ride through a hand-picked selection of everyone’s favourite West End and Broadway classics from Les Misérables to The Sound of Music, Dirty Dancing, and, of course, Joseph, as well as beloved yuletide songs and carols with wonderful West End flair. It wouldn’t be Christmas without an unforgettable trip to this year’s fabulous, family pantomime Cinderella from Friday 6 December 2024 to Sunday 5 January 2025. Oh no it wouldn’t! This captivating tale of magic, mayhem and misunderstandings stars TV sensation Hayley Tamaddon (Dancing on Ice, Emmerdale) and stand-up comedy star Steve Royle and will be a laugh-a-minute extravaganza with stunning sets, top musical hits, amazing costumes and exciting special effects to keep audiences both young and old entertained. Cinderella would love to go to the ball, but the Ugly Sisters have other ideas and wickedly tear up her invitation. But all may not be lost! Can Cinderella’s ‘bestest friend in the whole wide world’ Buttons, and her magical Fairy Godmother get Cinders to the ball? But she must be home by the stroke of midnight or her true identity will be revealed to all… The countdown to Cinderella’s ball has begun and this is one fairytale ending you won’t want to miss!
And don’t forget to mix with the top brass as the Grand Christmas Concert brings joy and song to all on Monday 16 December hosted by Top radio DJ and popular local celebrity Hayley Kay. The much-loved local voice of BBC Radio Lancashire and Blackpool’s Coastal Radio will help Poulton-le-Fylde Brass Band celebrate the season of goodwill in their annual rousing style and it’s sure to be a fabulous festive treat for all the family! This year’s Christmas Concert will take place just 11 days before the Big Day, making it the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time with friends or family, all in the beautiful surroundings of the glorious Grade II* listed Grand Theatre.
