Have you picked your colours for the blackest comedy of them all this spooky season? The record-breaking Heathers the Musical makes a sensational stop at Blackpool Grand Theatre this month just in time for All Hallow’s Eve. Which Heather will you be dressing up as this Hallowe’en? Red, Green or Yellow…
Yo Girl! It’s time to pick out your Hallowe’en outfit for the wonderfully wicked West End smash HEATHERS THE MUSICAL calling at Blackpool Grand Theatre for ONE WEEK ONLY from Tuesday 29 October to Saturday 2 November.
Pop it in your diary now…
Greetings and salutations! At Westerberg High popularity is so very a matter of life and death, and Veronica Sawyer is just another of the nobodies dreaming of a better day. But when she’s unexpectedly taken under the wings of the three beautiful and impossibly cruel Heathers, her dreams of popularity finally start to come true. That is until JD turns up, the mysterious teen rebel who teaches her that it might kill to be a nobody, but it’s murder being a somebody…
But which somebody will you be? Each of the killer characters in this magnificent musical always wear a specific colour palette to help portray the dastardly dynamics of their role. Let’s take the register and see who’s who and what they will be wearing:
Heather Chandler – Wears red to represent the power she holds over the whole school and her dominating personality over the trio of horrid Heathers.
Heather Duke – Wears green to symbolise her deep envy for Heather Chandler and her constant desire to steal her power.
Heather McNamara – Wears yellow to denote her more timid nature compared to the other two Heathers and her loyalty to the group.
JD – Wears black to show his devilishly dark personality and his love of deadly pastimes.
Veronica Sawyer – Wears blue to signify her thoughtful and genuine nature and help the audience to trust her despite some very questionable choices.
Heathers The Musical is a high octane, rock musical with the blackest comedy and is based on one of the greatest cult teen films of all-time (which famously starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater) and is directed by acclaimed American screen and stage director Andy Fickman.
It’s best friends, social trends and occasional murder at The Grand this Hallowe’en. Pick your favourite Heathers character, dress to impress and book your seats now for this killer of a show…
Or why not slip into a sweeping black opera cloak and take a bite out of the powerful new production of Bram Stoker’s Dracula flying in from Thursday 7 November to Saturday 9 November to celebrate the chilling centenary of the infamous vampire first appearing on stage. The time is 1897. Mankind is on the cusp of vast technological change, scientific mastery and media innovation. But an altogether darker fear is also emerging. As a new shadow looms large over England, a small group of young men and women, led by Professor Van Helsing, are plunged into an epic struggle for survival. Adapted and directed by Nick Lane for Blackeyed Theatre, Dracula is an exhilarating theatrical treat to really get your teeth into. A free Post Show Q&A is also available with the cast and creatives of this chilling show on Friday 8 November, along with a free Pre-Show Matinee Circle talk on Saturday 9 November with Barry McCann from The Dracula Society and local author Zowie Swan looking at vampires from differing perspectives in literature and film. And the chills continue… You might want to bring a cushion to hide behind as first lady of the paranormal, Yvette Fielding, joins Karl Beattie and the team live on stage for the spine-chilling Most Haunted: The Stage Show on Tuesday 19 November. Do you dare to brave the darkest and most terrifying journey of your life? Theatre audiences will be shaking in their seats as Yvette and the team present the show’s all-time top 10 scares complete with unseen video footage from haunted castles, manor houses, hospitals and prisons. In this show, ‘seeing is believing’!
