Private vehicles can no longer access Market Street and Church Street after 1030 and before 1800 on any day without incurring an automatic £100 Penalty Charge Notice. There are no exceptions. This means, for instance, that you cannot drop-off or pick-up in front of the theatre for a matinee performance. Should you have mobility issues, Blackpool Council advises you to use public transport or taxis as buses and taxis are exempt from the restrictions. A Blue Badge entitles the holder to concessions for ‘On-street’ parking, including free use of parking meters and pay and display bays, and exemption from limits on parking times (restrictions apply).
