An incredible new TV Drama Strangers is about to hit our screens – Life on Mars and Doctor Who actor John Simm is a man trying to unravel the mystery of his wife’s death in China.
Strangers – which had the working title White Dragon – will be released later in 2018. The eight-part series has been written by two newcomers, Mark Denton and Johnny Stockwood, and is produced by Two Brothers Pictures – award-winning duo Harry and Jack Williams, whose credits include The Missing, Fleabag and One of Us.

Simm says “As a young actor attending College in Blackpool, I appeared in three productions at ‘The Blackpool Grand Theatre’, It was the first theatre stage I ever appeared on, and because of that wonderful old place I have been in love with theatre ever since.
“The Theatres Trust supports The Grand Theatre, along with many other performance venues, and helps them thrive. For this reason, I am proud to be an ambassador of the trust.”

When’s TV Drama Strangers on TV?
Filmed on location in Asia in Autumn 2017, with addition filming in London earlier this year the exact air date has yet to be confirmed. However, the eight-part series is expected to be aired on ITV in 2018 – the trailer defiantly has us gripped!
What’s TV Drama Strangers about?
Strangers sees John Simm star as Professor Jonah Mulray, whose world is turned upside down when he learns his wife has been killed in a car crash in Hong Kong while working. Though his wife lived and worked there for six months, Jonah’s fear of flying as stopped him from ever visiting.
Now he must endeavour to cross the world to identify her body. On arrival he discovers a very complex case, with shocking truths and becomes drawn deeper into a web of conspiracy in a foreign country.
Jonah searches for the truth but Chinese detectives seem to be holding something back.
Who’s in TV Drama Strangers?
British television star John Simm will play Jonah, with his wife played by Dervla Kirwan.
Emilia Fox will play Sally, a British consulate who is trying to assist in the unravelling of the mystery.
Additional cast include Anthony Wong, Tim McInnerny, Anthony Hayes, Raquel Cassidy, and Katie Leung.
