Everyone’s asking What’s On In Blackpool? Music and Lots of it! says Blackpool’s Grand Theatre, who are delighted to announce their biggest lineup in music ever!
Following the success of last year’s MUSICFEST16 Blackpool’s Grand brings together another mammoth programme of live performers, from music genres covering Blues, Rock, Country, Pop, Electronica, and of course the soulful tones of the magic of motown – they have it all!
The Magic Of Motown (6 Aug) has been seen by over 1 million people worldwide. Music fans are invited to the biggest party of the year as the unstoppable Magic of Motown show steams into Blackpool.
This breath-taking concert spectacular takes you on a musical journey through all your favourite songs, including: Ain’t No Mountain, Signed Sealed Delivered, Grapevine, Get Ready, Dancing In The Streets, My Girl, Blame It On The Boogie, Uptight, Endless Love, My Cherie Amor, All Night Long, Heatwave, I’m Coming Out, Loco In Acapulco plus many more.
Celebrate the sound of a generation as the timeless music of Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, The Supremes, The Four Tops, Martha Reeves, Jackson 5, Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson and many more are sensationally recreated for you by an exceptionally talented cast and band.

‘Following the huge success of MUSICFEST16 last summer we were asked to offer an even wider selection of music shows. The Grand is devoted to presenting top quality music, and with our new program boasting over 19 individual shows and an eclectic array of genres from the ever-popular Adele and Rod Stewart to Prince and Michael Jackson. From Motown to Country and Blues to Rock this is one incredible celebration of music.’
The Chicago Blues Brothers (17 Sept) are back with a brand-new production for 2017 with an all new elaborate stage set taking you back to 1980 to finish the concert at the Palace Ballroom Hotel – the show is a powerhouse – with over two hours and 40 hits performed live in the concert that never finished.
The Chicago Blues Brothers is a joyous hoot, a musical riot, a juiced-up jamboree of the coolest, funkiest soul, blues and Motown hits performed with style, class and showmanship by a troupe of some of the finest entertainers working in modern musical theatre.
T-Rextasy (21 Sept) celebrates the story of Marc Bolan with his band T.Rex and was one of the most flamboyant and charismatic stars of the original glam rock era. With Bolan’s special ingredient of Rock-a-Boogie songs throughout the 1970s including Telegram Sam and Jeepster he could obtain what would be yet another Top 20 record in 1976 that has since become one of the most memorable and everlasting signature tunes, I Love to Boogie.
Purple Rain (22 Sept) is a world class live celebration of the music, life and legacy of the iconic legend that was Prince.
The 8-piece band delivers a non-stop, hit-packed show spanning more than two hours! Complete with backing vocals, horn section, keys and of course Jimi Love as the unsurpassed Prince. Hailed by original Prince and the Revolution drummer Bobby Z as “authentic and on the money”.
Simon and Garfunkel Story (24 Sept) comes direct from its success in London’s West End, a sold-out UK tour and standing ovations at every performance. Using huge projection photos and original film footage, this 50th Anniversary Celebration also features a full live band performing all the hits including Mrs Robinson, Cecilia, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Homeward Bound and many more.
Steve Steinman the creative force behind the hugely successful Vampires Rock, returns with this epic musical concert The Meatloaf Story (7 Oct) delivering all the best hits from Meat Loafs record-breaking album (Bat Out of Hell).
With video scenes, incredible stage set and band and Steve Steinman’s unique sense of stage presence, the show will have you up on your feet and dancing in the aisles to all your favourite hits.
Solid Gold Rock ‘n’ Roll Show (1 Nov) Original ‘dreamboats’, Marty Wilde, Eden Kane, Mike Berry, and The Wildcats, as well as very special guest Mark Wynter, join forces in The Solid Gold Rock ‘n’ Roll Show.
The late fifties and early sixties were without doubt some of the most exciting and important years in the history of music. With the arrival of rock n’ roll, a whole new pop culture was born. Performing their own hits and collaborating live on stage, Marty, Eden, Mike and Mark, teen idols of their day, show us how rock n’ roll with its fusion of sound and rhythm shaped the style of music that we listened to then and still do today. After joining The Bluesbrakers in 1993, he energized the band with his unique and fiery live style. Buddy made his recording debut on the Spinning Coin album and proved to be more than equal to following in the footsteps of his illustrious predecessors.
