Every year The Grand organises it’s own playwriting competition – Grand Words – for all those inspired authors across the Fylde Coast and beyond.
The winner has the unique opportunity to see their play performed in The Grand’s Studio, a major feat for all budding writers!
Year on year the competition has become more and more gruelling, but this year’s winner has been chosen and now things are gearing up to see their show performed in the Studio on Saturday 17 May.
Theresa Stoker managed to beat off all the competition with her comedy drama The Agios Dyonisios Writers’ Circle, which will be performed on 17 May by Phillip Higginbottom, Carolyn Quay, Pat Hayes and Louise Davis.
In addition, two other shortlisted works will be read: A Tale of Two Brothers, a short drama by Denise Silcock (Bolton) as well as a reading of one of Tom Meaney’s surreal comedies by Lancaster-based playreading group We Are Improv.
Tickets for Grand Words cost £4.50 (inclusive of a £1 fee) and can be purchased through our box office.
